Greater Boston Casino has announced the retirement of President Bob DeSalvio

Encore Boston Harbor President Bob DeSalvio has stepped down less than four months after a luxury casino property opened its doors. Wynn Resorts, the giant Las Vegas casino operator that builds and operates the Encore Boston Harbor hotel and casino, said Wednesday that it is Mr DeSalvio’s choice to leave his role in the property and that his successor will be Brian Gullbrants, who until now, he was the head of food and beverage at Encore Boston Harbor.

For the 5 years he was president of the estate, Mr. DeSalvio oversaw the construction of the luxury building, negotiated partnerships with people and employees, assembled an incredible team to start the renovation of the property. Previously Mr. DeSalvio was the head of the former Bethlehem casino resort (Sands Bethlehem) in Pennsylvania.

Bob DeSalvio – a leader with incredible talent

In a statement formally announcing the departure of Mr. DeSalvio from Encore Boston Harbor, Wynn Resorts said his “ability to partner with community leaders and elected officials, form a world-class team and get them working the start of a top quality project is remarkable. His unique talent for managing a complex construction process while listening to the needs of each stakeholder has played a huge role in our success. ”

The $ 2.6 billion resort in the Greater Boston area has not had a smooth construction process, and its launch is somewhat overshadowed by the 2018 sexual orientation scandal, with multiple accusations leveled against the founder of Wynn Resorts and former boss Stev Wynn, who has sexually harassed female employees for years.

This scandal could even cost Wynn Resorts a Massachusetts license. After a lengthy investigation, the state Game Commission decided this spring that the casino operator could retain its license and open Encore Boston Harbor. However, the regulator hit the company with a very large $ 35 million fine for delaying the resort’s opening and sexual harassment allegations.

Earlier this week, news broke that Nevada’s game regulators intended to ban Mr. Wynn from gambling on Silver State’s territory.
